Historic Ogden Valley community below Powder Mountain
The story of Eden
Eden is a long established Ogden Valley community name, not a separate city government. It now sits within Ogden Valley City, but it remains a practical and cultural center for the north side of Pineview Reservoir and the route toward Powder Mountain.
Eden developed in the nineteenth century as families established farms in the upper Ogden Valley. Agriculture, irrigation, winter weather, and relative distance from Ogden shaped a small rural community with connections to nearby Liberty and Huntsville.
Recreation gradually changed the valley economy. Pineview Reservoir, skiing, trails, second homes, and resort development brought visitors and new residents while farming remained visible. Eden became a useful geographic name for businesses and neighborhoods well beyond a traditional town center.
In 2026 Eden became part of the newly operating Ogden Valley City. The Eden name continues to describe a real community, but city government, planning, and public notices now belong to Ogden Valley City. Huntsville remains a separate incorporated town.

What shapes the community today
Eden combines working land, year round homes, vacation properties, resort traffic, and a small commercial center. The Powder Mountain road and the north shore of Pineview orient much of the community. Because postal names, the historic Census designated place, resort marketing, and the new municipal boundary do not match perfectly, any address specific service or jurisdiction question should be checked against Ogden Valley City or the responsible district.
